Minority leaders in India are voicing concern if the stone laying ceremony of Ram temple will create a larger Ram rajya in India — that is the rule of majoritarianism. Questioning the presence of PM Modi at the stone laying ceremony, minority leaders have asked that as the PM represents the highest authority of the govt should he be partisan in promoting a particular religion. But the point is that under the Article 25 of the Constitution provides freedom every citizen to profess any religion hence it does not violate any law. Moreover political pundits hold that Ram Rajya was a secular Rajya where every religion was respected and every citizen given justice.
Hence it is a misgiving that Ram Rajya will be a majority Hinduism rule and is a beginning of a Hindu Ram Rajya. It is also apprehended to be the beginning of the destruction of more mosques in the country to erect or strengthen Mandir presence. This is particularly with the ongoing slogan of “Ayodhya to jhanki hai…mathura kashi abhi baki hai”. Even as the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodha is historic and comes after almost 500 years of struggle it also represents a holy sanctum sanctum of Hindus most loved God of Maryada Purosuttam Ram. There is little doubt that the temple represents the birthplace of Maryada Ram but also the start of Ram Rajya particularly where secularism and justice prevailed.
